Day 23 and how we use our maps today...

Good Morning Eagles,

Today we are riding from Gunnison to Cotopaxi, Colorado.  It is an 88 mile ride.  These are two maps we used today:

Starting at:
Finishing at:
Day 23
Thursday, May 3
Gunnison, CO
Cotopaxi, CO

We use some maps to tell us where we are going.

We use some maps to tell us how many and what type of uphill and downhill parts of the ride there will be.

We will ride for 30 miles on an almost flat road, then we will climb a mountain for about 10 miles, and then we have the rest of the ride downhill.

This is the road sign for downhill.  Some riders love this sign because they know the climbing is over.  Some people don't like the downhill because their bikes go too fast and they need to control their speed.

Hope you are having a great day.

  1. Dear Ride for World Health Team, we are sorry we have not been writing to you, but we have been busy testing with our state tests. The students worked very hard to prove their answers and we believe we have done our best. Now we are happy to get back to you and see what you have been doing. Sarah would like you to know that the bicycles with quarter wheels of the states you've been in are exciting! Ella asks, "What computer program allowed you to put the quarters on the wheels?" Benjamin says, "Nice quarters!" Faith asks, " Do you know what all the symbols on the state quarters mean?" Jake advises, "Get enough sleep , don't watch T.V. on your phones, and eat nutritious foods." Mia would like you to know that we have been doing a contest about TV Turn-off for one week and WE WON! WE FEEL HAPPY AND EXCITED AND PROUD!! Krystal would like to tell you that in our school we learned that bullying is not good. Jordan says, "That was funny that you had the quarter wheels." Have a nice day with your ride! Your blog pals, Rm. 16 Second-Graders
